Physics: Scientists win Nobel for uncovering quantum effects at large scale
2025-10-07T11:27:04.000Z The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to a trio of researchers for discovering quantum mechanics on a whole new scale. John Clarke of the University of California, Berkeley, Michel H. Devoret of Yale University and the University of California, Santa Barbara, and John M. Martinis of the University of California, Santa Barbara, received the prize "for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit."
